As part of a comprehensive plan to meet its customers growing energy needs, The Neptune project is a 106km undersea cable connecting New Jersey with Long Island. It will provide LIPA with access to power from diverse resources in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The project involved the installation of a 600-MW HCDC cable from Sayreville, New Jersey to Levittown, New York. It is the longest undersea transmission project in the Northeast.
The installation at sea was accomplished via a special cable laying barge and the cable-laying vessel Giulio Verne. The GPA photographer was given access to take photographs from the shore as well as on ship during the initial phase of the cable laying in New Jersey.

Met Life blimps landed.
GPA photographs many of Met Life’s sales and marketing meetings and events. But recently we were asked to take photographs from the ground as well as aerial images of their iconic Snoopy blimp based in New Jersey.
Our photographer went up in one of the two blimps to get these dramatic aerial photographs. Clear weather was essential, so the local GPA photographer was standing by on shoot day and coordinated with the blimp’s crew, seen here posing before the launch.
The images were posted on line the same day for Met Life’s use.
Unfortunately, Snoopy called in sick that day.

Firehawk at work. GPA shoot for Sikorsky Aircraft
Sikorsky Aircraft’s Firehawk helicopter is designed to respond quickly to forest fires in urban environments.
They asked GPA to have our photographer in Los Angeles be on alert in the event of a fire, to capture the crew in action and chronicle the helicopter’s capabilities.
